Celebrity Come Dine With Me

For our final project we each got a celebrity and had to create a table setting for them. I got Piers Morgan.
I researched him and drew out a few mind maps.. He wrote for The Sun and then became the youngest editor of the News of the World at age 28. He also worked as editor for the Daily Mirror, and launched a children's newspaper called First News. As well as being a journalist Piers Morgan wrote 8 books, won The Celebrity Apprentice in 2008, and was on the judging panel for Britain's Got Talent and America's Got Talent. He also hosts many television shows such as Piers Morgan Tonight, The Dark Side of Fame with Piers Morgan, and Piers Morgan Life Stories where he interviews celebrities.

Concentrating on the journalism side of his life I started collaging newspapers and magazines onto plastic plates. I also did this with cutlery.

I found an old keyboard at home so took it apart and decided to make something with the keys as they show Piers Morgans career as a writer.

I painted the Got Talent logo on the inside of the bowl.

For the plate I got a mirror, to symbolise his work for The Daily Mirror. I then took pictures of sections of a newspaper. I would have liked to transfer this print directly onto the mirror but I couldn't figure that out so I printed them onto acetate and glued them over the mirror in layers.

For the glass I designed one using a quill pen as inspiration. I made it using the sheets of newsprint acetate.
